A beautiful experience. How fortunate to have a true and authentic 'Japanese Teacher' offering more than just instructions, but explaining about the cultural and historic background to the Art of Ikebana.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Ikebana workshop at byAzumi this afternoon. We were welcomed with a cup of Japanese green tea and then given an overview of the history and principles of Ikebana. Azumi then demonstrated how to build a solid base for our arrangement. It was then time to give it a go ourselves. We were watched Azumi create an example arrangement and then let loose to create our own version. Azumi is absolutely delightful and loves what she does. Her instructions were easy to follow and she didn‘t overwhelm us, while still providing plenty of options we could choose to add to our Ikebana if we wanted to,
