Garden Bouquet
For this workshop, we make it easy to understand the process to create hand-type floral arrangements with seasonal garden flowers. You will: Feel every detail and movement of each flower by arranging it in your hand. Enjoy the combinations, colour and texture of a variety of seasonal garden flowers, inspiring you to create a design which reflects the natural environment where the garden flower grows.
The workshop is designed to be an immersive, creative experience with hands-on and practical floristry techniques and design principles utilising this unique flower species.
Get inspired and learn about this unusual perennial flowers by uprising its special characters within your floral art. All plants have a unique shape, colour and growing process and are NOT USUALLY AVAILABLE IN CUT FLOWERS.
By visiting the grower directly we are able to utilise this unique flower – a rare treat!
Antique Perennials is a nursery based in Kinglake, specialising in rare and unusual perennials, including shade loving woodlanders, bulbs, prairie plants and other hardy perennials. Owners Matt Reed and Michael Morant spent years collecting and importing plants from many locations throughout the world.
Many of their plants are recent introductions and are only available from Antique Perennials Nursery. The plants are available year round from some of the best retail nurseries in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, Southern Queensland and Tasmania. The owners of the nursery will give you a tour and the opportunity to see these rare plants up close. In a relaxed and open group discussion you will have the opportunity to chat with Azumi and Michael as they share their passion and love of plants. You will also be some of the first guests to visit Antique Perennial Nursery, and see these rare perennial plants in all their glory. Morning and afternoon tea will be provided on the day, making for a lovely day connecting with nature, learning some new skills and experiencing the Antique Perennial Nursery!

442 reviewsAzumi is an ikebana master and artist with over 30 years of experience, working across Japan, Europe, and Australia. Her contemporary Ikebana Free style is rooted in authentic Japanese aesthetics, while allowing space for individuality and modern expression.
Azumi describes her work as “speaking in flowers”—using ikebana as a visual language to express ideas, emotions, and inner feelings. Through her art and teaching, she helps each person translate their own voice into form, guided by nature.

- A transfer can be requested 7 days before the class starts. An admin fee of AU$45.00 applies.

If you are unable to attend the class: We understand that plans may change. If you are unable to attend, we are happy to transfer your booking to an alternative date or issue a credit at no additional charge—provided we receive at least 7 working days' notice. This is because we prepare materials and reserve your place in advance.
Cancellations or transfer requests within 7 days of the class are subject to a 30% administrative fee (fee varies depending on the class).
The remaining tuition fee can be kept as a credit for future use.
Please note: Due to our small class sizes and limited availability, we do not offer refunds for cancellations or missed classes. Cancellations or no-shows within 24 hours of the class will be charged at 100%.
Age Requirements
Children under 14 are welcome, but they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is responsible for their supervision throughout the session.
Attendance & Punctuality
We start our sessions on time, and early arrival is recommended.
Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the scheduled start time to allow for check-in and preparation.
To respect all participants, if you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may refuse entry to the session. Refunds will not be provided in this case
Class Cancellations
- Classes are subject to sufficient enrolment numbers.
- We reserve the right to cancel any scheduled course.
